K. Raji Reddy, the General Secretary of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Employees’ Union, announced the Union is leaving the TSRTC Joint Action Committee (JAC.)

The TSRTC JAC was formed during the 60 day TSRTC strike which took place during 2019.  The JAC, along with the TSRTC Employees’ Union, went on an indefinite strike against the State Govern ment due to the unfulfillment of their long pending demands.

However, later, the JAC and TSRTC employees negotiated with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and ended the strike.

On the 3rd of February, the Employees’ Union wrote a letter to the Convenor of the TSRTC JAC, E. Ashwathama Reddy, informing him about the exit of the Union from the JAC.

K. Raji Reddy, along with a few TSRTC Employees’ Union leaders, conducted a press meet on the 6th of February and announced the exit.

Raji Reddy said since the JAC failed to fulfill the demands of the RTC employees, the Employees’ Union decided to leave the JAC.

Raji Reddy said the Union would fight independently against the management and would resolve their issues.  He also said the Employees’ Union is legally registered and has the right to interfere in the TSRTC employees’ matters, if needed.

K. Raji Reddy concluded the press meet with a thank you note for the TSRTC JAC and Labour Unions in Telangana which extended their support to the TSRTC Employees’ Union.
