On the 8th of November, the Telangana High Court (HC) issued a stay order for the privatisation of 5,100 bus routes in Telangana.

Visweswara Rao, the Vice President of the Telangana Janata Samithi (TJS,) filed a petition against the privatisation of routes and buses and demanded a stay order for the same.

It has been 34 days since the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees went on strike.  The TSRTC strike is expected to continue until the Telangana Government agrees to the employees’ demands.

During the hearing, the HC judges asked the Additional Advocate General (AG) to file a response for the same and adjourned the case.

The TSRTC demanded the State Government hold talks with the TSRTC employees and resolve the matter as the strike is causing inconvenience to the citizens of Telangana.  Approximately 48,000 workers are on strike since the 5th of October.

The next hearing regarding the TSRTC strike is scheduled on the 11th of November.

Stay tuned for further updates.
