As the Telangana Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) strike issue is not yet resolved despite several requests of the TSRTC leaders, the leaders decided to meet Union Ministers in New Delhi.

Recently, E. Ashwathama Reddy, the Convenor of the TSRTC Joint Action Committee (JAC,) agreed to end the TSRTC strike without any demands and urged the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to take back the employees.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, did not respond to the TSRTC employees’ requests.

The TSRTC JAC decided to drop their demands and rejoin duty after more than 25 TSRTC employees either committed suicide or died due to health issues.

The TSRTC strike, which started on the 5th of November, entered its 52nd day on the 25th of November, without any response from the Government.

Finally, on the 25th of November, the TSRTC JAC leaders decided to meet the Union Ministers in New Delhi and inform them about the situation of the employees.

During the meeting, the TSRTC JAC is expected to highlight how the employees and their families are suffering due to unresponsive nature of the TRS Government.  The TSRTC JAC is also going to speak about the decision of the TRS Government to privatise approximately 5,100 bus routes.

The decision to meet the Union Ministers came after a meeting between the JAC leaders and representatives of various political parties.

The JAC leaders urged the opposition parties to help them and take their matter to the Central Government.

The JAC leaders sought an appointment with the Union Ministers and are all set to meet them.

Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) President M. Kodandaram, G. Vivek, A.P. Jitender Reddy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) Ravula Chandrashekar Reddy of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) T. Veerabhadram of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] and others attended the meeting held between the JAC leaders and the political parties.

Stay tuned for further updates.
