The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is going to send a legal notice to Tollywood actor Allu Arjun and Rapido services.

Recently, in a Rapido advertisement, Mr. Allu Arjun was seen saying that people who use RTC buses are likely to take more time, which is like cooking an ordinary dosas, whereas people using Rapido would be fast and safe and at the same time, one can easily make a masala dosa. The TSRTC said the advertisement is defaming the services of the State run bus services.

In regard to this, the TSRTC issued a statement which read, “Demeaning TSRTC will neither be tolerated by the TSRTC management nor by the commuters, admirers and our own and retired employees. Further, the Managing Director said, in fact actors should act in the advertisements which promote public transport for a better and environmentally cleaner society.” The Statement further read, “The TSRTC is in the service of the common man and it will send legal notice to the actor and to the firm which is promoting the advertisement.”

The TSRTC Managing Director (MD) Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, reacted to the advertisement and said, “demeaning TSRTC will neither be tolerated.” Mr. V.C. Sajjanar further said that actors should act in advertisements to promote public transport for a better and environmentally cleaner society. However, Mr. Allu Arjun and Rapido services promoted their services but tarnished the image of the TSRTC. In regard to this incident, the TSRTC would now send a legal notice to the actor and to the firm which is promoting the advertisement.

After Mr. V.C. Sajjanar took over as the TSRTC MD, he is working to enhance the services of the State run services. Recently, the TSRTC issued notices and registered cases against people for putting up stickers and pamphlets in buses and bus stations. In addition, the TSRTC also took action against those who are spitting pan, gutka in buses and outside.

Mr. V.C. Sajjanar also urged influential people like actors, celebrities, and eminent personalities not to promote content which defames public transportation.
