In Hyderabad, two electric bikes caught fire after their batteries exploded while charging.
The incident happened on the 15th of August, Monday, under the limits of Kushaiguda police station, confirmed police on the 16th of August, Tuesday.
Although no one was injured in the incident, this is the second electric vehicle explosion case in the City in just three days. Getting into the details, Mr. T. Haribabu recently purchased two electric bikes. He kept both the bikes charging in front of his house around 4:00 P.M. However, after an hour of charging, a loud explosion resulted in the fire to the two electric vehicles.
Soon the fire spread to nearby electric wires, following which the locals alerted fire tenders, which rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
In the past also, many such incidents have been reported, causing the lives of people in the Telugu States of Telangana. Furthermore, concerned over the increasing incidents of electric two-wheelers catching fire, the Centre recently formed an expert panel to inquire into the matter.
