Two INC Leaders Joined TRS Ahead Of Dubbaka By Elections

On the 9th of October, two senior leaders of the Indian National Congress (INC) joined the opposition Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)

The change of parties came ahead of the Dubbaka by elections in Telangana.

The switching could be a major set back to the Indian National Congress (INC) in Dubbaka.

Narasimha Reddy and Manohar Rao, leaders of the INC joined the TRS in the presence of State Cabinet Minister Harish Rao.

Narasimha Reddy and Manohar Rao along with 2,000 party workers from the INC joined TRS.

Welcoming these workers and leaders into the TRS, Harish Rao said TRS candidate Solipeta Sujatha would get huge support in Dubbaka by election.

Mr. Rao took a dig at the Indian National Congress (INC) and said that the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy would stay with the people until the elections but the ruling party leaders will be available to the people 24 hours.

Mr. Rao further said, “The Congress leaders are scared of losing all the votes this time and for Uttam, it is not fair to disparage Solipeta Sujatha. By hitting out at Sujatha, Uttam offended all the women in Dubbaka. However, the people from the constituency are elated to see a woman representative to their constituency.”

After Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Dubbaka passed away, the MLA position fell vacant.  Mr. Ramalinga Reddy died of cardiac arrest on the 6th of August at a private hospital in Hyderabad, Telangana.

In regard to this, amid the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 situation, the Telangana State Election Commission released a notice for the Dubbaka by polls.

According to the released notification, the election will be scheduled on the 3rd November, 2020.

While the last date for nominations is on 16th of October, the scrutiny of the nominations would be held on the 17th of October.

The last date for withdrawing the nominations is on the 19th October, 2020.

While Solipeta Sujatha is the TRS candidate, M. Raghunandan Rao is the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, the candidate of the INC is yet to be announced.

The results of the elections would be announced on the 10th of November.

Stay tuned for further updates.
