The Union Culture and Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy launched the Praja Ashirvad Yatra in Telangana.

The three day yatra started from Nallabandagudem in Suryapet district yesterday, the 19th of August. The aim to begin the yatra was to create awareness about the Central Government’s schemes amongst the people of Telangana.

On the arrival of G. Kishan Reddy, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, the National Vice President of BJP Mr. D.K. Aruna and other senior leaders like Mr. P. Sudhakar Reddy, Mr. Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and others welcomed him.

It is to be noted, this is the first time Mr. G. Kishan Reddy is going to visit his hometown. For his arrival, the BJP cadres and other leaders organised a grand welcome for the Union Minister. Before visiting Telangana, Mr. Kishan Reddy visited the Tirumala Temple and Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada and offered special prayers. Later, he came to Telangana and launched his yatra.

During the three day yatra, the Union Minister would cover Hyderabad via Suryapet, Torrur, Wardhannapet, Hanmakonda, Jangaon, Pembarthi, Alair, Yadadri, Bhuvanagiri, and Ghatkesar. The 305 kilometers yatra would cross eight Parliamentary and 17 Assembly constituencies.

During the entire three days Praja Ashirvad Yatra, the BJP leader would create awareness about the schemes and welfare activities of the Central Government.

Another major reason behind the launched padyatra is said to be the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly by election. The BJP is aiming to establish a strong hold in the Telugu State.

The Huzurabad Assembly election is scheduled to be held sometime soon, but an official date is awaited. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is expected to announce the dates by the first week of September.

In addition, the three major parties including, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the BJP and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) are in the fray to contest the Huzurabad Assembly by poll.
