Bhaiyyu Maharaj a spiritual guru committed suicide in Indore on Tuesday. The police and hospital authorities reported the guru shot himself to death. Deputy Inspector General Indore H. C. Mishra released the official report of the suicide.
Bhaiyyu Maharaj whose original name is Uday Singh Deshmukh was rushed to the Bombay Hospital. The hospital’s General Manager Rahul Parashar said the guru succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Maharaj was popular in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra because of his spiritual and social work. His supporters gathered outside the hospital mourning their loss.
His ashram is located in Indore city and attracting a number of people. Among his devotees are Devendra Fadnavis and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. The guru also played a vital role during India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare.
