Amit Shah, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the 11th of February, wrote an open letter to the citizens of Andhra Pradesh.

In his letter, Mr. Shah predicted the political future of N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and accused him of ‘theatrics and histrionics.’

Amit Shah also said, with the demands of the granting of Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Naidu wants to remain in the headlines in order to cover up the decline of his political career.

Shah wrote, “Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is back to theatrics and histrionics. His desperation for headlines is understandable as he is aware that his political fortunes are declining rapidly.” The letter further read, “His delusional politics is about to end, and we have faith and belief in ‘Satyamev Jayate’ [truth will prevail.]”

Shah claimed, Naidu predicted his failure and that is why, he is diverting people’s attention from his failures and protesting against the BJP Government.

Amit Shah also criticised Naidu for not coming to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he came for visit to Andhra Pradesh, on the 10th of February.

Mr. Narendra Modi visited Andhra Pradesh and addressed a public rally in Guntur, where only a few members of the TDP came to receive Mr. Modi.

Shah said, “He (Chandrababu Naidu) is going too far by personally attacking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and he did not have the courtesy to receive the honourable Prime Minister when he came to the State.”

Chandrababu Naidu accused the BJP of writing a letter and said, Amit Shah and the BJP are ‘hitting below the belt’ and asked them to maintain the decorum.

Chandrababu Naidu, on the 11th of February, held a protest against the Central Government for not granting the Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh. The State is demanding the SCS since 2014, after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into the State of Andhra Pradesh and the State of Telangana.
