Andhra Pradesh Covid-19 Updates: Nellore Under Strict Lockdown Till July 31

After Chittoor district, Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh would also witness a lockdown.

The Nellore district administration announced a complete lockdown from the 24th of July.

The decision was taken to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Since the past few days, Andhra Pradesh witnessed a massive increase in the number of Coronavirus positive cases.

On the 22nd of July, Andhra Pradesh reported approximately 6,000 new cases, taking the total cases more than 64,000.

In regard to this, many cities and districts in the state are voluntarily imposing lockdowns.

The collector of Nellore district said lockdown rules would be in effect until the 31st of July.

However, essential stores would remain open from 7:00 A.M., to 11:00 P.M.

He also said that only medical services and food door deliveries will be allowed during the lockdown.

Nellore is one of the districts of Andhra Pradesh with a highest number of COVID-19 cases.

Nellore recorded a total of 3,010 positive cases of which 2,000 are active cases, 988 recovered/discharged cases and 22 deceased.
