Andhra Pradesh: Due To Rise In Covid-19 Cases, People Above 60 Years Were Asked To Stay Indoors

After the spike in the cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh, the State Government advised people above the age of 60 to stay indoors.

As per the advisory, if people above the age of if they are suffering from chronic ailments like diabetes, heart diseases, cancer and HIV, they should not step outside their houses.

The State Government asked these people to stay indoors for at least 30 days self isolation to avoid being infected by the Novel Coronavirus.

The Government also advised people not to use hydroxychloroquine tablets to avoid getting infected with the virus, without any prescription from a doctor.

The advisory came due to the massive rise of the Novel Coronavirus infection cases in Andhra Pradesh.

In the last 24 hours, the State registered a single day spike of 7,998 new cases with 61 deaths.

With this the total cases 72,711 and death cases cross 800 and stand at 884.

Of the total 72,711, 37,555 patients have been discharged/recovered and 34,272 are active cases.

To curb the spread of the virus, the State Government enhanced testing speed, treatment and tracing.

District authorities are calling for strict lockdown in their respective areas.

Surveillance on the areas by police and ensuring people wearing a face mask is a regular check for the concerned authority.
