Andhra Pradesh Reports 6th COVID-19 Positive, Lockdown Till 31st March

On the 22nd of March, the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government reported another positive case of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

A 49 year old woman residing in Visakhapatnam is the 6th positive COVID-19 case in the State.

According to sources, the woman was in close contact with a 65 year old COVID-19 positive patient and developed the illness.

As of now, the woman is undergoing treatment at the Chest Hospital and is in isolation.

Meanwhile, other patients are also undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the State, equipped with isolation wards, medical facilities and other services related to COVID-19.

With the aforementioned updates, Andhra Pradesh currently has 6 COVID-19 positive cases to be treated.   

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., on the evening of the 22nd of March, announced complete lockdown in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus.

Mr. Reddy addressed a press conference and announced an allotment of Rs. 1,500 crores for supply of dal, rations and essential goods to the poor.  The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party would also provide Rs. 1,000 monthly to the families under the food supply scheme during the lockdown period.

The State Government also arranged 100 isolation wards and quarantine wards in every district and increased the medical facilities.
