The Amaravati Meteorological Department (AMD) on the 17th of November, predicted moderate to heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh. 

According to the forecast, moderate rains would happen for the next two days in the State. 

An official of the AMD said, the surface periodicity extended from the Komarin to the southwestern central Bay of Bengal along the southern coast of Tamil Nadu.

In addition Rayalaseema would also receive moderate rainfall today and tomorrow, the 17th of November and the 18th of November.

On the other hand, Nellore and Tirupati received heavy rains on Monday and is likely to receive rains for the next two days.

In addition, Chittoor and Kadapa district would also receive rains. 

The concerned authorities alerted the people of the Penna River basin.

According to sources, in the last 24 hours, Tirupati received 150 mm of rain followed by 90 mm in Gudur and Kavali, 80 mm in Palamaner, 70 mm in Raipur, Kandukur, Udayagiri and Satyavedu, 60 mm  in Srikalahasti, 50 mm in Nellore, Thottambedu, 50 mm in Atluru, Venkatagiri fort, Avanigadda, Atmakuru, Venkatagiri, Machilipatnam, Badvelu, 40 mm  in Koduru and Penang.
