Andhra Pradesh To Witness Moderate To Heavy Rainfall For Next Two Days, IMD Alerts People

The Telugu state of Andhra Pradesh is likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall in the next two days.

The Weather Department of Andhra Pradesh predicted rainfall in the coastal region of the State. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) alerted the concerned authority of Andhra Pradesh regarding the same. The IMD also forcastheavy rainfall for the next two days, the 24th and the 25th of August.

Taking action upon the alert, the State weather department advised the people of A.P., not to venture into low lying areas and coastal regions. The weather department official said, the southwesterly winds are expected in the State at a low altitude and it is likely to rain heavily.

In addition to the heavy rainfall, thunderstorms were also predicted in Rayalaseema. In Rayalaseema, light rainfall started yesterday, the 22nd of August, and is expected to continue until Tuesday, the 24th of August.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, the Andhra Pradesh Government under the leadership of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed all the district officials to be on high alert. The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) asked officials to alert people and ensure a review of the rainfall situation from time to time.
