Tremors in Chittoor district created tension and danger in several villages. Residents of villages: Gurivimakula Palli, S Gollapalli, Krishnanagar Colony, Palli Kuppam, Gadduru and Pedda Garikapati in Ramakuppam Mandal, felt the presence of tremors (earthquake) in the region.
On the 26th of November, Friday, a few villagers reported that they felt tremors and rushed out of their houses to protect their fields. However, the area police asked the people to be calm and not to rush toward the forest, as it could be dangerous. Many huts developed minor cracks.
Meanwhile, officials rushed to the spot and asked people not to panic after the incident. The revenue officials would visit the region and conduct inspections in the affected villages and mandals of Chittoor district.
As of now, no after effect, vibration and damage of properties has been reported until now.
