Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 31st of August conducted an event in Medikonduru, Guntur and inaugurated the 70th Van Mahotsav programme.
He also planted saplings and encouraged the people of Guntur to plant saplings during the programme.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, during the occasion, asked the people of AP to celebrate the 70th Van Mahotsav by planting as many trees as possible for a better environment.
Apart from Y.S. Jagan, K. Narayana Swamy, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) also inaugurated the 70th Van Mahotsav programme in Tukivakam village, AP.
The Van Mahotsav programme was inaugurated to highlight the importance of planting trees for a green and pollution free environment.
The Van Mahotsav programme organised by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is a way to encourage people to plant trees. The Forest Department also participated in the programme and is all prepared to plant approximately 2.78 crore plants in the district.
Van Mahotsav is an annual movement to create awareness regarding the decreasing number of trees and the importance of planting more trees.
