Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 13th of November, conducted a Cabinet meeting.

The meeting was held at 11:30 A.M., at the Secretariat in Velagapudi village, Guntur district, AP.

During the meeting, the Cabinet ministers discussed various issues in AP, including the State capital, sand shortage, new laws and schemes.

One of the major decisions taken during today’s meeting was to provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the corn and maize farmers in AP.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also instructed Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) officials to act upon the decision of implementing MSP and open purchase centres. The Agriculture Marketing Department is responsible for this and was asked to implement the MSP, which came into effect from the afternoon of the 13th of November.

The decision to provide the MSP was taken after a sudden fall in corn and maize prices during the past week. Kurasala Kannababu, the Agriculture Minister of Andhra Pradesh, said the price of one quintal of corn was Rs. 2,200 a week ago, but after a week, the price reduced to Rs. 1,500.

Mr. Kannababu further added due to fluctuating prices, the farmers were at a loss as they did not get the MSP.

YSRCP ministers and officials attended the meeting.

Stay tuned for further updates.
