The amount was deposited directly to the bank accounts of mothers of the wards through online mode. The launch event took place at the YSRCP Camp Office in Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh. Speaking on the occasion, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said “Under (the) Jagananna Vidya Deevena, fee reimbursement will be credited into mothers’ accounts in four installments, where the government has released the first tranche on Monday and the second will be released in July, third in December, and the fourth tranche in February next year. Last year, around 10.11 lakh students benefited and this year the number increased by 77,000, benefiting 10.88 lakh students.”

Previously the money was paid directly to college owners, but from now on it’s being credited to the mother’s accounts as they could have better supervision on the college facilities and students’ wellbeing, which would also improve accountability from college managements.
