On the 30th of July, the Andhra Pradesh Health department confirmed nearly 10,376 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. Of the total cases, 70% were reported in the past few weeks.

This is higher than any other state, barring Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. As a result, Andhra Pradesh is on fourth place in the list of highest number of COVID-19 cases in Indian states.

The top four are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and the National Capital Delhi.

With the new 10,367 cases, the total reached 1,40,933 cases till date. This is the biggest spike ever in the State since the infection broke out.

Meanwhile, the number of deceased reached a total of 1,349 in the past 24 hours.

With these updates, Andhra Pradesh has a total of 75,720 active cases, 60,969 recovered/discharged cases and 1,349 deceased.

The top four districts of Andhra Pradesh with the highest number of the Novel Coronavirus active cases are East Godavari (13,662,) Kurnool (8,575) Guntur (6,556,) West Godavari (6,893,) Anantapur (8,427) and Chittoor (4,833.)

In terms of the Novel Coronavirus, Andhra Pradesh has now become one of the fastest growing states in the country. The cases are growing rapidly at a rate of 12.03 %

In addition, the mortality rate of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh is 1 %, the average growth rate of the infection is now 10.60 % from the previous 11.40 % and the recovery rate now is 45.30 %.

Till the 30th of July, Andhra Pradesh conducted a total of 19,51,776 tests for the Novel Coronavirus.

The total population of the State as per 2019 data is 5,22,21,000.
