AP High Court Demands Answers From State Government

The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,)High Court, on the 13th of January, reviewed a petition filed against the implementation of Section 144 in A. P. 

The HC, heard the petition filed by women and farmers of Amaravati, who are protesting against the 3 State capitals and expressed outrage over the implementation of Section 144.

Though the Advocate General representing the State Government, demanded another hearing, the HC refused and asked the lawyer to submit an affidavit with all details by the 17th of January. 

The Court also asked the Government to give a written letter explaining  the Police ‘s brutal attack on farmers and women who are protesting.

The women and farmers in a separate petition filed demanded answers of the A.P., Police’s action of manhandling people and attacking them.

The farmers and women of Amaravati are continuing their protest against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) for proposing Amaravati, Kurnool and Visakhapatnam as State capitals. 

However a final decision regarding the State capitals is yet to be taken.
