On the 15th of May, the Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) dismissed the bail plea of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Member of Parliament (MP) K. Raghurama Krishnam Raju.

The High Court also directed Mr. Raghurama Krishnam Raju to approach the Central Investigation Department (CID) for bail.

In addition, on the request of MP’s lawyer Adinarayana Rao, the High Court instructed the AP Government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to ensure proper health care of Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who had a bypass surgery. Recently, on the 14th of May, the MP of the YSRCP was arrested in a sedition case. He called out to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and demanded a cancellation of bail against the YSRCP Chief Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Mr. Raju was arrested from his residence in Hyderabad for allegedly acting in a way detrimental to the prestige of the state government. He was registered under Sections 124A (sedition), 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups), and 505 (conducting public mischief.)

He would have to appear before the VI Additional Magistrate and would be sent into remand. According to sources, the bail petition of Raghurama Krishnam Raju will come up for hearing before the CID court on Sunday morning, the 16th of May.
