AP Police On Alert Ahead Of Assembly Session

On the 20th of January, the Andhra Pradesh Police in Amaravati are on alert ahead of a special Assembly session. 

The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government deployed a large number of police personnel in view of the A.P., Assembly session organised to discuss the ongoing State capital issue. 

The police force is headed by 7 Superintendents of Police (SPs) in all the villages of Amaravati. 

The tight security was deployed to control the public and farmers who plan to conduct a protest and siege the Assembly House. 

After the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) announced the Assembly session, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi called for a ’Chalo Assembly’ rally.

While 2,500 police personnel are on duty to avoid law and order issues, people are protesting by hoisting black flags at the top of their residences with ‘Save Amaravati’ slogans.

On the other hand, tight security and two sets of convoys were arranged for Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, for him to safely reach the Assembly. 

The Prakasam Barrage Bridge was also closed on account of the Assembly session. 

The Assembly session is scheduled to begin soon on the 20th of January.
