Andhra Pradesh reported another major hike in the cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
On the evening of the 21st of January, Friday, the State Health Department confirmed 13,212 fresh Wuhan virus cases, taking the overall tally to 21,53,268. In addition to the new cases, the Telugu State reported 5 fatalities and 2,952 recovered/discharged cases. With this, Andhra Pradesh has 20,74,600 recovered/discharged cases, 14,533 deceased cases and 64,136 active cases.
As per district wise data, Visakhapatnam district reported the highest, with 2,244 new infections, followed by Chittoor 1,585 and Anantapur 1,235 while West Godavari has logged the least cases with 596 new cases in the last 24 hours.
The aforementioned cases were confirmed after conducting 44,516 COVID-19 tests, taking the tally to 3.20 crore in Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, amid the rising number of the Wuhan virus cases, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government imposed a night curfew in the State until the 30th of January.
