N. Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 13th of August, addressed a state level meeting of the TDP activists and leaders in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh (AP.)
During the meeting, Mr. Naidu vowed to bring back his Party to power in the State and to work hard to achieve the same. He said after the defeat of the TDP, the Party leaders analysed all the factors which lead to Party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in AP.
In the AP Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the TDP won 23 Assembly seats and 3 Lok Sabha seats out of the 175 and 25 seats respectively.
Naidu said although the TDP secured only 23 Assembly seats, it won a total of 40 % votes in the State.
Speaking about the plan of the Party, Naidu said the TDP will appoint committees in every constituency across AP and will work for the welfare of the citizens of AP. He said all the associate bodies of the TDP should work towards strengthening their unit and the leaders of the respective villages and districts should focus on the protection of the Party workers.
The TDP will also increase the youth members in the Party from 40 % to 50 %, as the Party needs to have young people.
Naidu also slammed the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) for attacking TDP workers and activists after forming the Government of AP. He said the TDP never indulged in such attacks while it was in power in the last five years.
Highlighting the facts, Naidu said thousands of TDP supporters were arrested and 469 leaders were attacked by the YSRCP Government.
Naidu also criticized the Andhra Pradesh Police, which is like a puppet of the YSRCP Government and witnesses the attacks on the TDP members without taking any strict action against the culprits.
The session was organised to boost the morale of the TDP workers and supporters and praise their efforts in their respective constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.
