India Today organised a two day South Conclave 2018 to discuss serious issues such as economic resurgence, artistic heritage, political legacies and cultural engagement of the region. The Conclave was scheduled for the 21st and the 22nd of December, at Visakhapatnam.

Prominent personalities like Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, V. Narayanasamy, the Chief Minister of Puducherry, Ram Madhav, Thomas Issac and Bhuma Akhila Priya were the part of the Conclave.

Mr. Naidu, during the conclave, attacked the Narendra Modi led the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said India needs a front party with like minded parties to fight against the Modi and Amit shah pair.

He said, “I want to save the nation. Like-minded people all of us have to join together. All those who oppose BJP, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah — we all have to join together. Even citizens of the great country.”

Mr. Naidu went on with his criticism and claimed the BJP has destroyed the democracy of the nation and has shown disrespect toward the reputed institutions of India such as the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) and Reserve Bank of India (RBI.) Naidu declared the current Government as the worst ruling government for the nation.

Mr. Naidu counted every step of Narendra Modi, criticising his schemes and steps. He also spoke about demonetisation saying, Narendra modi cheated him with his false slogans.

Diverting the topic to Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Naidu denied sharing M.K. Stalin’s stand to see Rahul Gandhi as the candidate for the next Prime Minister of India.

Chandrababu Naidu said, “I made it very clear: we should not announce a candidate today.” Speaking about the alliance with the Congress Mr. Naidu considered the alliance as the democratic compulsion and said, one who wants to protect democracy should come together.

India Today Conclave South 2018 wrapped up yesterday with strong comments from Chandrababu Naidu about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP party.

India Today organises the event every year since 2002, this was the third edition of the India Today Conclave. The Conclave witnesses leaders, iconic writers, ministers sharing their views about the development of the nation over serious issues.
