Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) is on a one day visit to Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu’s visit comes at a time when the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) restarted the construction and development of Amaravati under the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA.)
Meanwhile, farmers of Amaravati staged a protest against Chandrababu Naidu as he had promised the development of Amaravati as the State capital 5 years back.
Farmers said, “None of the promises given by the Government of Chandrababu in the last five years has been fulfilled. Thousands of acres were collected from 28,054 farmers belonging to 29 villages in the Thullur, Mangalagiri and Tadepalli zones through land acquisition.”
During the reign of the TDP Government, the State Government acquired land from villagers and farmers to develop the capital city of AP.
However, nothing of the kind happened and when the YSRCP came to power in AP, it stalled the construction and development of Amaravati.
Naidu’s Amaravati visit was also questioned by the YSRCP. A few YSRCP activists and workers also staged a protest with black flags and tried to stop Naidu’s convoy. The Amaravati Police reached the spot and tried to control the situation.
Chandrababu Naidu addressed the media and criticised the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP for destroying Amaravati.
Naidu said, “The CM is the most corrupt politician in the Country.”
After his one day visit to Amaravati, Chandrababu Naidu is expected to make an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and meet him to discuss Amaravati’s development.
However, an official announcement regarding the schedule of the meeting is yet to be made.
