Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 12th of September, addressed the TDP leaders and appreciated them for their efforts to make the ‘Chalo Atmakur’ rally a success.
Naidu chaired a meeting with the TDP leaders at the party office in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh (AP) and said due to the Chalo Atmakur rally, the people of AP are discussing the attacks by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) on the TDP workers.
During the meeting, TDP leaders like Kala Venkata Rao, Ram Mohan Naidu, Kesineni Nani, Maddali Giri, Gadde Ram Mohan and Velagapudi Rama Krishna were present.
The TDP alleged the YSRCP of attacking TDP leaders, activists and workers and asking them to leave the State. The TDP members said after the YSRCP came to power, the Party misused its power against the TDP.
Later, during the meeting, Naidu also discussed the various issues in AP, especially regarding the construction of the Polavaram Project and the capital of AP. He criticised Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, for not making a final decision about the Polavaram Project and Amaravati as the capital of AP.
Chandrababu Naidu is expected to meet the Director General of Police of Guntur and submit a memorandum regarding the attacks on the TDP workers and leaders.
