Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister (CM) of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) on the 26th of August, spoke about the Naxalite issue of Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighted the fact during the Inter State Council Meeting, organised to discuss the Maoist affected areas.
Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, organised the Inter State Council Meeting where all the ministers of states (MoS) discussed the Naxalite issues and ways to resolve it.
During the meeting, Jagan Miohan Reddy spoke about the ability of AP to tackle Naxalites and said AP Government is handling the Left Wing Extremists (Naxals) effectively.
Jagan Mohan also asked the Home Minister to sanction funds so that the State can set up additional patrolling stations and forces in Andhra-Odisha border for the safety of People.
AP CM also suggested strategies to fight against Naxalism by the development of Tribal areas. He also reminded the Central Government regarding their promise of a Tribal University under the AP Re Organisation Act 2014, which the Central Government did not even start.
Apart from the Tribal University, Y.S. Jagan asked the Central Government to approve Tribal Medical College and a Tribal Engineering College for the Tribal people.
As of now, the Central Government sanctioned 4 Police battalions in AP. Although the Central Government sanctioned 4 police battalions, the cost of only one has been provided by the Central Government.
