The Election Commission of India (ECI,) on the 2nd of April, appointed the expenditure observers for 10 Assembly constituencies and 2 Parliamentary constituencies, in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh.
The decision was taken by the ECI to conduct fair and impartial polls in Andhra Pradesh. C.H. Harikiran, the Collector and Electoral Officer of Kadapa district, selected 7 expenditure observers for smooth polls.
The observers selected for the Parliamentary constituencies are Amith Prathap Sing for the Kadapa constituency and H.K. Meena for the Rajampet constituency.
The other 5 observers selected for the Assembly constituencies are N. Sanjay Gandhi (Badvel,) Thetendyu Chartijee (Rajampet,) Bhupathi (Railway Kodur,) Ganesh Chandra Yadav (Kamalapuram, Pulivendula) and Vinoth Kannan (Jammalamadugu and Proddatur.)
The parties and party members contesting the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh are advised to lodge any complaint regarding the election expenses to the above expenditure observers.
The parties can also lodge a complaint if the Model Code of Conduct (MCC,) issued by the ECI, is violated by any candidate.
Andhra Pradesh will contest a total of 175 seats and 25 seats in the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections respectively, scheduled on the 11th of April.
The major parties contesting the Andhra Pradesh elections are the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) the TDP and the JanaSena Party.
The results of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
