Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Visakhapatnam and former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member switched parties.

Mr. Ramesh Babu quit the TDP and joined the opposition ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) on the 28th of August.

Mr. Panchakarla Ramesh Babu joined the YSRCP Party in the presence of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the President of the YSRCP.

On this occasion, CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed Mr. Rameshbabu with a YSRCP scarf.

YSRCP ministers like Avanti Srinivas and Vellampalli Srinivas also participated in the function which was held at the CM’s camp office in Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh.

Pachakarla Ramesh Babu resigned from the TDP five months ago due to a conflict of interest over Visakhapatnam as the executive capital.

He also appreciated the decision of the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP of having three capitals, including Visakhapatnam as the executive capital.

While YSRCP proposed Visakhapatnam to be the executive capital, Amaravati is said to be the legislative capital and Kurnool as the judicial capital.

The function was a small affair with all the norms of social distancing maintained in the presence of senior leaders of the YSRCP.
