The Huzurnagar Assembly constituency, during its by election on the 21st of October, recorded a voter turnout of more than 80 %.
Poll officials, after the by election was over, said the Constituency recorded a total of 82.23 % voter turnout.
The polling ended peacefully at 5:00 P.M., however, people who were in the queue before 5:00 P.M., were allowed to cast their votes even after the time was over.
Till 5:00 P.M., 83.23 % of voters turned up and cast their votes. However, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said the final turnout percentage would be announced later.
Huzurnagar recorded a voter turnout of 31.34 % by 11:00 A.M., and around 3:00 P.M., the turnout reached 69.95 %.
In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, the Huzurnagar constituency recorded a total voter turnout of 85.96 %.
The major parties which contested the Huzurnagar by election were the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)
The results of the Huzurnagar by election will be announced on the 24th of October.
