On the 8th of September, India reported 75,809 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The Union Health Ministry of India on the 8th of September confirmed 42,80,422 total cases with the 75,000 plus new cases.

While cases are on the edge of crossing 43 lakha, number of deceased due to the Novel Coronavirus is at 72,775 including 1,133 new deaths in the past 24 hours.

In addition, there are respectively 8,83,697 active cases, over 3.3 million have recovered from the COVID-19 infection till date.

With these everyday spike in cases of minimum 75,000, India overtook Brazil to become the nation with the second highest number of COVID-19 cases.

Brazil, which now stands at third position, has over 4.1 million cases and the United States of America (U.S.A.,) continues to be the worst hit from the pandemic with over 6.4 million cases.

Speaking about the everyday tests, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that over 5 crore samples have been tested for the Coronavirus infection till date.

Of the total, nearly 11 lakh samples were tested on the 7th of September.

Speaking about the states, according to the Health Ministry data Maharashtra is the of worst affected states, followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Delhi which was showing good recovery again started reporting new COVID-19 cases.
