K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, on the 22nd of May,;9 launched two Basti Dawakhanas at Erragadda and Yousufguda divisions.
With the new two Basti Dawakhanas, there are 168 Basti Dawakhanas in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
Out of 45 Dawakhanas, 22 are in Hyderabad, 15 in Medchal, 5 in Ranga Reddy and 3 in Sangareddy.
KTR launched the first Basti Dawakhana at BJR Nagar in Malkajgiri on the 6th of April 2018.
The inauguration of Basti Dawakhana was initiated to acheive and aim of enhanced health network and medical facilities to poor people, especially in slum areas of Telangana
Clinics in these areas run from 9:00 A.M., till 7:30 P.M., providing treatment to poor and underprivileged people of the areas.
Mr. Rao accompanied by a few ministers of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) launched the dispenceries.
The event was attended by limited people maintaining the social distancing norms in Telangana.
Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 1,699 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 45 fatalities till the 22nd of May.
