Mallela Om Prakash, main accuse in the murder Julakanti Srinivasa Reddy alias Moddu Srinu, died on the 27th of July.
Om Prakash was sentenced, life imprisonment for killing his fellow prisoner at the Anantapur district jail, Moddu Srinu.
On the 9th of November, 2008, Om Prakash killed Moddu Srinu.
Both were in Anantapur district jail,Om Prakash was on an undertrial and Moddu was imprisoned for alleged murder of Paritala Ravi, a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)
Two years after the murder of Moddu Srinu, Om Prakash was sentenced to life term and he was transferred to Vizag Central Jail from Nellore Central Prison on medical grounds in 2016.
According to the Visakhapatnam jail authority, Om Prakash died of kidney related issues at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Though Om Prakash died on the 26th of July, the news broke out on the evening of the 27th of July.
S. Rahul, the Superintendent of Visakhapatnam Central Prison, said, Om Prakash was availed treatment at KG Hospital on Saturday and he again complained of discomfort in the early hours on Sunday.
He further added, Om Prakash was shifted to KGH and he lost his final breath while he was availing treatment in the early hours on Sunday. We are waiting for the post mortem report to establish the exact cause for the death of the prisoner.
The postmortem report is yet to come.
