Political Parties Continue Campaigning For AP Municipal Elections

With just few days left for the Andhra Pradesh Municipal elections, the political parties intensified their campaigns.

While the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) roped in senior party leaders including Nara Lokesh, Atchannaidu and Chandrababu Naidu, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) pulled in cabinet ministers.

Recently, Nara Lokesh, the General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) campaigned for the Party in the upcoming Municipal elections.

On the 4th of March, Mr. Lokesh addressed a road show and made several promises to the people. Mr. Lokesh visited the Simhadri Appanna temple, in Visakhapatnam, and offered prayers. Later, he participated in a roadshow, organised by the TDP, supporting the TDP contestants.

During the roadshow, Nara Lokesh assured progress and development of the area and made a few promises. He said after winning the elections, they would reopen Anna canteens within 100 days of winning. The Party would waive off the property taxes and water taxes, they would maintain the sanitation and hygiene in Visakhapatnam.

In last 4 days, Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the TDP also toured different district and campained intensively.

TDP National President Nara Chandrababu Naidu also launched campaigns for the State Municipal elections. He is scheduled to address public rallies and road shows from the 5th of March to the 8th of March.

Meanwhile, opposition Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also kick started campaigning for elections.

The Andhra Pradesh Municipal elections for 12 corporations and 75 municipalities would be held on the 10th of March. The major parties contesting the elections are, the YSRCP, the TDP, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the JanaSena Party.

The results of the Municipal elections would be announced on the 14th of March.
