P.V. Sindhu, a badminton player, on the 13th of September, met Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) at the AP Secretariat in Amaravati.
The meeting took place after her recent victory at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Championships 2019 in Basel, Switzerland. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy praised and congratulated Sindhu for winning the World Championships.
P.V. Sindhu visited Amaravati with her parents and M. Srinivasa Rao, the Minister of State Youth Affairs and officials of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh.
On the 25th of August, P.V. Sindhu won a gold medal at the BWF Championships, against professional badminton player Nozomi Okuhara at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. With this victory, Sindhu is the first Indian to win a gold medal at the World Championships.
After her meeting with the AP Chief Minister, P.V. Sindhu met Biswabhusan Harichandan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
Later in the evening, the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh will felicitate P.V. Sindhu during an event organised at Tummalapalli, Kalakshetram in the State.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, officials of the Sports Authority and many leaders of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) will also be present during the felicitation.
