Senior TDP Leader Bangi Ananthaiah Joins YSRCP In Kurnool

On the 1st of March, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Bangi Ananthaiah joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

Mr. Ananthaiah, the former Mayor of Kurnool (1995-2,000,) joining the YSRCP came ahead of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal elections. Kurnool MLA Hafeez Khan presented the YSRCP with a shawl and welcomed him to the party fold in the presence of local party leaders in the district at Kurnool.

While joining the YSRCP, Bangi Ananthaiah hailed the welfare schemes of the YSRCP under the leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said he joined the YSRCP to serve the party and the people of Andhra Pradesh.

When asked if Mr. Bangi is hoping for any post ahead of the Municipal elections, he ruled out any possibility and said he is not hoping for any post. He also highlighted his issues with the TDP.

Mr. Ananthaiah alleged the TDP of not giving him importance and prioritising only a few sections of people. He even cited some examples to defend his statement. He said due to the behavior of the TDP leaders towards him, he even tried to commit suicide in 2020. However, he was saved by his family members.

Along with Bangi Ananthaiah, TDP leaders like Laxmayya, Suresh, Ravishankar, Ganesh, Raghu Rana Pratap, Shankar and Chiranjeevi also joined the YSRCP.

This sudden switch of parties amid the upcoming Municipal elections could be a major drawback to the TDP.

The Andhra Pradesh Municipal elections are scheduled to be held on the 10th of March. The results of the elections would be announced on the 14th of March.

Stay tuned for further updates.
