TDP Conducts Legislative Meeting To Discuss AP Govt Decision Of Abolishing Legislative Council

After boycotting the Assembly session organised by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) conducted a Legislature Party meeting.

Chaired by N. Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the TDP, the meeting began at 1:00 P.M.

During the meeting, TDP Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) discussed the future course of action after the State Government passed a resolution to abolish the Legislative Council of A.P.

Approximately 23 Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) attended the meeting along with the 23 MLAs.

The TDP is opposing the decision of the State Government to abolish the Legislative Council.

On the 24th of January, Shariff Mohammed Ahmed, the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, decided to refer the two State capital decentralisation bills to a select committee.

However, to avoid any delay in the development works in the three State capitals (Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Amaravati,) the YSRCP Government decided to abolish the Legislative Council.

Stay tuned for further updates.
