TDP Leader Fumes At YSRCP For Spreading False News About Recent IT Raids

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) fumed at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government in Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

Mr. Ramakrishnudu lashed out at YSRCP leaders for spreading false news about Income Tax (IT) raids at TDP leaders’ properties in the State.

Recently, there were 40 Income Tax (IT) raids across India, including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Pune.  One such raid was held at the residence of Pendyala Srinivasa Rao, the former personal secretary of Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

The IT raids, which started on the 6th of February in 40 places, concluded on the 10th of February.

On the 13th of February, the Central Board of Direct Taxes released a statement which read, “Investigations led to busting of major rackets of cash generation through bogus sub contractors, over invoicing and bogus billing.  Several incriminating documents and loose papers were found and seized during the search apart from emails, WhatsApp messages and unexplained foriegn transactions unearth during the searches.”

The IT Department found an unaccounted amount of Rs. 2,000 crores.

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu rubbished the news of Chandrababu Naidu’s involvement in the IT raids and the unaccounted money found during the raids.

The YSRCP alleged Chandrababu Naidu of having unaccounted income after the aforementioned IT raid took place.

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu warned the YSRCP against spreading such false news.  He said the TDP would otherwise take legal action against the YSRCP leaders.

The YSRCP did not respond to the warning given by the TDP leader in relation to the IT raids.
