Telangana HC Rejects Interim Plea Of N Srinivasan In ED Case

The Telangana High Court (HC,) on the 18th of February, rejected an interim plea filed by N. Srinivasan, a former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the India Cements Managing Director.

Mr. Srinivasan filed a petition and urged the Telangana High Court to dismiss the case filed against him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED.)  N. Srinivasan also appealed to the HC to exempt him from personally appearing before the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court in Nampally, Hyderabad.

A case of disproportionate assets was registered against the current Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and N. Srinivasan in 2011.    

The ED is investigating the involvement of N. Srinivasan  and his Company in the disproportionate assets case against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.  The case is being heard by the special CBI Court.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy needs to appear in the CBI Court every Friday for court hearings and proceedings.

Besides N. Srinivasan and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, other Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders are also involved in the case.  A total of 11 chargesheets were filed against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and N. Srinivasan.

The next hearing related to the case is scheduled on the 21st of February at the special CBI Court in Nampally, Hyderabad, Telangana.
