Vivekananda Reddy Murder Case – TDP and YSRCP Allege One Another

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) alleged one another for the death of Vivekananda Reddy.

Vivekananda Reddy, a member of the YSRCP, died on the 15th of March. His body was found in the bathroom around 5:30 A.M., at his residence in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh.

Initially, it was reported, Vivekananda died due to a cardiac arrest, but after the postmortem report, it was suspected, he was murdered, as he had several injuries on his body.

Soon Vivekananda’s murder became a political matter, with both the YSRCP and the TDP playing the blame game and alleging each other of being responsible for the murder.

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 15th of March, held a press conference, during which he claimed, Vivekananda’s family are prima facie guilty because they tried to hide the evidence and pretended it was a natural death.

Mr. Naidu said, “Vivekananda’s family tried to hide the fact that it was a murder till the postmortem was done. Why was he killed?” He further added, “This has become like a fiction. The scene of offence was disturbed and they tried to make believe it the death was due to a heart attack. Step by step they tried to hide everything and also destroy evidence. They did not tell even the police. They even made police believe it was a heart attack and said they did not want a case (filed.)”

Naidu also rejected Jagan Mohan Reddy’s demand for a Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) inquiry into Vivekananda’s murder. Naidu said, filing a case is also a tactic of the YSRCP for escaping the case and gaining a political advantage.

Naidu said, Jagan Mohan Reddy is using his family member’s murder for his political gain, ahead of the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. The murder would garner Jagan and his Party sympathy and may help him win the elections.

On the other hand, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the President of the YSRCP, alleged TDP of being behind the murder.

The Kadapa Police filed a case under Section 174 (Suspicious death) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and started an investigation.
