The scheme would benefit these castes as well without the need for caste verification.

According to sources, the Andhra Pradesh Government led by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) took the decision to help these castes, which are having difficulty in getting the caste certification document for various reasons.

During a recent Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy pointed out that due to lack of caste certification, many of the castes were eligible but could not benefit under the YSR Cheyutha Scheme.

Under the YSR Cheyutha scheme, beneficiaries would get an amount of Rs. 75,000 in four installments to women between the ages of 45 to 60 belonging to SC, ST, BC and minority communities in the state. The scheme will benefit 24 lakh to 25 lakh poor women, which is expected to cost between Rs 18,000 crore and Rs 20,000 crore over four years.

As per the directions of the CM’s office, the authorities have taken steps to provide the YSR Cheyutha scheme to the eligible persons with self certification.

Society of Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP,) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Raja Babu said the process of identifying the eligibility of these four castes for the scheme started.

The scheme was launched by the YSRCP Government on the 12th of August, to help women in the State.
