YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Takes COVID-19 Vaccine Shot In Guntur

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) took the COVID-19 vaccination shot.  

On the 1st of April, Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife Y.S. Bharathi, took the Covid-19 vaccine shot at Ward No140 vaccination centre of Bharthpet in Guntur district. With this, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy marked the beginning of the vaccination for everyone above 45 years of age. As per the Central Government’s guidelines, vaccination was permitted for people above 45 years old from the 1st of April. Previously, the vaccination was being given to people above 60 years old and above 45 age with comorbidities

After taking the first dose, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a vaccination centre in the village and ward secretariat of Bharat Pet, Guntur district. The decision to provide vaccination centres in ward and village secretariats was taken to cover the maximum population with the vaccination of the Novel Coronavirus. In addition, the State Government is planning to vaccinate 1 crore people in the span of one month. Regarding the same, the health department had asked the district collectors to launch the vaccination drive at select secretariats in both rural and urban areas on a pilot basis and extend the similar facility to as many secretariats as possible in the next few weeks.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohana Reddy said, “In the current scenario, the vaccine is our only weapon against Covid-19. Therefore, we need to aggressively vaccinate people across age groups to safeguard them against the virus. (Sic.)”

In addition, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy created awareness about the ongoing vaccination drive in A.P. He said the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is working to administer COVID-19 vaccination doses to everyone eligible. He said the State Government’s on ground network of ward volunteers, healthcare workers and other district officials are creating door to door awareness regarding vaccination in every part of Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a rise in the COVID-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, the State reported more than 1,100 new COVID-19 cases.

In order to control the spread of the virus and maintain awareness, the State Government imposed strict guidelines and hefty fines.
