Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) is on a visit to Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Reddy, on the 4th of October, left for Eluru from his residence in Tadepalli in his helicopter.
As a part of his one day visit, Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to review the development projects, colleges and institutions in Eluru and the implementation of welfare schemes.
Speaking about Jagan Mohan Reddy’s schedule, he first landed at the Sir CRR degree college in Eluru. Later, he visited a Central Government hospital and laid the foundation for a medical college on the hospital premises.
During his one day visit, Mr. Jagan is scheduled to launch the Vahana Mitra scheme, which is formulated by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) to benefit commercial drivers.
Under the scheme, commercial auto and taxi drivers will get financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 per year from the YSRCP Government in Andhra Pradesh.
The AP Government, under the leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, designed the scheme and asked the drivers to submit their Aadhaar Card, white ration card, vehicle registration certificate, driving license and bank passbook.
Drivers who belong to Scheduled Castes (SCs,) Scheduled Tribes (STs,) Backward Classes (BCs) and minorities are required to submit their caste certificates, along with the aforementioned certificates, to avail the benefits of the scheme.
Approximately 1,75,218 drivers across AP submitted the documents. The approved drivers will get cheques of Rs, 10,000 during the launch of the scheme in Eluru.
Mr. Jagan Mohan is also scheduled to meet the workers and cadres of the YSRCP in Eluru.
After his visit to Eluru, Y.S. Jagan will visit the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada on the 5th of October.
