The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government, on the 27th of November, appointed a Working Committee on the Abolition of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS.)
The Y.S. Jagan Reddy led YSRCP issued orders to appoint the Committee for the CPS with the secretaries of 5 AP departments. The CPC Working Committee would be headed by Nilam Sawhney, the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh (AP,)
The Finance, Planning, School Education, Panchayati Raj and Medical departments of AP would be included in the Committee. The Finance Department Secretary would be the President of the CPS Working Committee.
Nilam Sawhney would be the Chairperson of the CPS Working Committee, which would study a report issued by the NP Tucker Committee.
The YSRCP Government asked the CPS Working Committee to submit a report regarding the abolition of CPS by the 30th of June 2020.
