The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) on the 19th of November, increased the financial assistance for Christian pilgrimages, including those to Jerusalem.
After the Cabinet ministers discussed the matter, the YSRCP enhanced the financial assistance provided to Christian pilgrims from an amount of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000.
This financial assistance for visiting any biblical places applies to people whose annual income is only up to Rs. 3 lakhs. Individuals who have an annual income exceeding Rs. 3 lakhs would get an annual assistance of Rs. 30,000, Rs. 10,000 more than the previous amount.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP,) approved the proposal to increase the amount.
In this regard, Mohammed Ilyas Rizvi, the Principal Secretary of the Department of Minorities Welfare, issued a Government Order (GO,) GO MS. 74, which came into effect from the 19th of November.
