Kanumuru Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, a Member of Parliament (MP) of the Lok Sabha, on the 9th of October, was appointed as the chairman of the Subordinate Legislation Committee in Lok Sabha.
Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, constituted several committees and announced the chairmen of the committees including Kanumuru Raghu Rama Krishan Raju, a MP representing the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
Uttam Kumar Reddy, the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is appointed the member of the Subordinate Legislation Committee.
Om Birla appointed Nama Nageshwar Rao, a MP of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) as the Chairman of the Parliament Library Committee.
While several ministers from the Telugu States were appointed as the chairmen of committees, other AP MPs were selected as the members of the committees constituted in the Lok Sabha.
Apart from Subordinate Legislation and Parliament Library Committee, Om Birla also constituted Ethics Committee and Women Empowerment Committee, chaired by Vinod Kumar Sonkar and Hina Vijaykumar Gavit, respectively.
After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the Indian National Congress (INC) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK,) the YSRCP is the largest party with a majority of MPs in the Lok Sabha 2019.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, congratulated Kanumuru Raghu Rama Krishna Raju for his new position in the Lower house committee.
