Andhra Pradesh Government To Set Up 54 New Covid-19 With An Additional Rs. 1,000 Crores To Tackle Covid-19 Situation

The Andhra Pradesh Government is soon going to set up 54 new hospitals for the treatment of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh.

Concerned about the ongoing situation and rise in the COVID-19 cases, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh decided to have additional hospitals.

Mr. Reddy decided to initiate better medical care to the growing coronavirus patients in Andhra Pradesh. He said that they are providing critical care facilities in a total of 138 hospitals.

Mr. Reddy also said, “In addition to the state level, we are moving towards providing critical care facilities in 5 more hospitals. Of them, 3 hospitals have already been made available,”

With the new hospitals, the State would have 2,380 beds available for critical care treatment,

The new hospitals would be worth Rs. 1,000 crores and expected to be ready soon.

The money would be spent on infrastructure, paramedical staff, doctor recruitment and health staff appointments.

Apart from this, currently the State Government is spending about Rs 6.5 crore a day on coronavirus tests and quarantine facilities.

Andhra Pradesh has a total of 77,963 cases of the Novel Coronavirus.
