After launching the special Wuhan virus vaccination drive In Telangana, the State achieved a major milestone and administered 2 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses.
According to sources, of the total 2 crores, 1.50 crores received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas the remaining 50 lakh people got their second doses. With this, Telangana now has 51 % completely vaccinated people and 49 % people are those who are yet to get their first dose.
Under this special drive for the Novel Coronavirus vaccination, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government aimed to vaccinate 3 lakh people everyday. Special emphasis was given on the people residing in the remote villages and rural region, where the facilities to get vaccination doses are less, compared to the urban region
It is to be noted, with the efforts of district collectors, health department officials and village secretariats, the K. Chandrashekar Rao Government achieved this milestone.
Celebrating the 2 crore milestone, Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, cut a cake at the Telangana Secretariat. During the celebration, he congratulated the officials of medical and health departments and other staff who have been involved in the vaccination drive for the past few months in Telangana and its Capital Hyderabad.
The small event of achieving the milestone celebration was attended by the Medical and Health Secretary Mr. S.A.M. Rizvi, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Mr. Lokesh Kumar, the Special Secretary of Finance Department Mr. Ronald Ross, the Excise Commissioner Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmed, the OSD Gangadhar and Medical and Health Director Dr. G Srinivas Rao.
