India reported 15,223 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Compared to the 20th of January, the Nation recorded 2,000 plus cases on the 21st of January.
In addition to the 15,223 new positive cases, India witnessed 151 new deaths and 19,965 recoveries.
The aforementioned figures of the Novel Coronavirus cases were updated by the Union Health Ministry on the morning of the 21st of January.
According to the updated data of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) India has 1,06,10,883 positive cases, of which 1,92,308 are active cases, 1,02,65,706 recovered/discharged cases and 1,52,869 deceased cases.
In addition, till date, India vaccinated 8,06,484 people. The nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive started on the 16th of January in states and union Territories (UTs) of India.
The drive started after the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) approved India made COVID-19 vaccines for usage.
The two approved vaccines are, the Serum Institute of India (SII) made Covisheild and the Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech International Private Limited manufactured COVAXIN.
The Union Health Ministry confirmed the active caseload rate at 1.81% , recovery rate at 96.75 % and fatality rate stands at 1.44 %.
It has been one month, the active cases are below 3 lakhs in India.
Meanwhile, according to the Indian Council Medical Research (ICMR,) the Nation tested 18,93,47,782 samples for the Novel Coronavirus with 7,80,835 samples being tested on the 20th of January.
